WEC 47 Fighter Salaries and Performance Bonuses
When Jens Pulver said he doesn’t make much money from competing in MMA he wasn’t lying. After an emotional speech following his loss to Javier Vazquez, Pulver stated that he fights for the fans because he doesn’t make that much money. Pulver walked away with $14,000, which is a lot less than what he made in his last fight at WEC 41 against Josh Grispi ($31,000).
The Ohio Athletic Commission (OAC) has released the fighter salaries from WEC 47 and Joseph Benavidez walks away as the top earner of the event. Benavidez defeated Miguel Torres (who takes the second highest salary) by guillotine choke.
