Kamal Shalorus Injured, Bout With Jamie Varner Postponed
The lightweight war that was expected to happen at WEC 48 between “The Prince of Persia” Kamal Shalorus and former WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner now looks to be off. Shalorus has suffered an injury in training, and has been forced to withdraw from the card. Varner confirmed the change via Twitter:
Bad news kamal got hurt so can’t fight until June now unless something happens to cerrone or ben!
It looks as if Varner is on standby just in case either Donald Cerrone or Ben Henderson get injured and can not compete in their WEC lightweight title bout, so we’ll see what the future has in store. WEC 48 the company’s first foray into Pay Per View and is headlined by a featherweight title bout between champion Jose Aldo and number one contender Urijah Faber.
